EGG SUBSTITUTES FOR BAKING

When it comes to baking there are so many egg substitutes, here is a list of my favorites and how to use them!

  1. Flax egg- -Flax egg is a mixture of water and ground up flax seed. I mix 1 tablespoon of flax meal and three tablespoons of water for each egg. I love using this for my chocolate chip cookie recipe!
  2. Applesauce – I like to use applesauce in breads(such as banana or zucchini) and cakes. I like to use 1/4 cup of applesauce for per egg. If you are using sweetened applesauce and the recipe calls for sugar, use less sugar in the recipe.
  3. Mashed banana- -Mashed banana is also a great substitute in baked breads as well. using a 1/4 cup to replace each egg. Of course you should know that the finished product will taste like banana.
