Shamelessly Fabulous Friday Celebrating Carrington Creatress of Parts Homegrown

Hello love! Welcome back to to my space! Its Friday, so that means it’s time for another celebration! Today I am celebrating Carrington, the creatress of Parts Homegrown a blog dedicated to living well, from the inside out! I have been following Carrington’s journey for a while and every time I see her smiling face, all I can think is, ‘she is light’!

Carrington is a yoga instructor, poet and plant mama who’s passion for self care and self love reflects through her beautiful, captivating and wise captions. Her words and style of writing are a reminder to slow down, reflect and be mindful. Issa a whole mood!

Carrington recently turned passion for plants into a business! She is now accepting clients for House Plant House Calls where she will guide you through how to take care of your plants, virtually! How cool is that?


I asked Carrington some questions about her vegan journey and mindful living, here’s what she had to say:

Tell me about your Instagram handle:

withcarrington, its a way for people to feel like they are doing something with me; planting with me, bending with me, eating with me.

How long have you been vegan/plant based and why?

Been vegan for 4 1⁄2 years and I went vegan for a combination of reasons; the environment, ethics & mental health.

What is one thing you wish you knew before going vegan/plant based?

That I’m not the only vegan around, most people just don’t say they are.

Are there any foods you avoid?

Why I avoid peanuts and tree fruits because I have 20 ish allergies,

What is one food you cannot live without?

Kale and strawberries.

What’s your favorite quote and what does it mean to you?

This quote reminds me that I don’t have to get so worked up all the time, I just need to breathe and just be.

Who inspires you?

My best self, like if I think about wanting to be my best self that inspires me to do better, create more and love boundlessly.

What book has made the greatest impact in your life?

Yoga Sutras by Patanjali

What are some simple things that bring you joy?

New leaves on my plants, wildflowers, COWS, sparkles in people’s eyes, THE MOON.

What are your favorite self care tips?

Retreat into nature, make a latte, take a bath, nurturing something, retail therapy, putting a crystal on my forehead and laying on the floor with a candle burning.

What is something a lot of people don’t know about you?

I’ve worked in biofuel research to veteran non-profits to sales to now engineering construction.

What is one song that can instantly put you in a good mood?

September by Earth Wind and Fire

What are your best practices for getting through challenging times?

Write it out, talk it out, practice yoga to release it out.

What are your words to live by, or your motto?

Spread the most amount of joy while causing the least amount of harm.
