Shamelessly Fabulous Friday celebrating Rasheeta Joy of Pretty Pumped Fitness

Hello beautiful. Welcome back to my space! Welcome to another Shamelessly Fabulous Friday where I take the opportunity to celebrate someone who inspires me in the hopes that they will inspire you! Lets get into it!

Rasheeta Joy

Today I am celebrating the amazing Rasheeta Joy of Pretty Pumped Fitness! I first came across Rasheeta’s Instagram page about a year ago and could not help but smile. She is the pure embodiment of optimism, love and joy!

Rasheeta is passionate a passionate personal trainer who brings her love of fitness to her clients in a fun and accessible way! She is the type of trainer that helps her clients succeed and pushes them, lovingly, out of their comfort zone enabling them to reach their goals!

One of the things I absolutely love about Rasheeta is her fun loving personality! Whether she be grooving to old school R&B or making delectable raw vegan treat, she’s having fun!

One of Rasheeta’s creations.
“I found this most healing when I was getting closer to my family loving them for their good and accepting the bad. This impacted me then most when I looked in the mirror and had to apply this to myself.”

Pretty Pumped Fitness came from saying like, pretty awesome, pretty cool, pretty strong. Pretty Pumped means Pretty excited, it also means visually Pretty and Strong. It has a double meaning. I love it!

How long have you been vegan/plant based and why?

3 years. This was a transition for over 5 years. I was a pescatarian first then went vegan in 2017. My mother passed away from colon cancer in 2012 and that started me on the journey to better health. She taught me about veganism a long time ago, she is my savior, she changed my life. That’s her legacy, and I get to share it with people everywhere.

What is one thing you wish you knew before going vegan/plant based?

I wish I would have known that there is support, that there was a whole group of women doing it too! Women that cooked like me, that were athletic like me. I went vegan for my health and I didn’t realize that people were already doing it!

Are there any foods you avoid?

Yes I try to avoid processed foods, impossible burgers, beyond meats, fake foods and recently staying away for soy. Now, I do enjoy them but I am always keeping my body lean, and light. Soy and tofu I love but when I took a break from it I noticed my hormonal changes. That was a bummer lol but I’m listening to my body. I love being strong, quick, and healthy and I find that real fruits and veggies are the way.

What is one food you cannot live without?

So many!!! I couldn’t live without my seasoning and spices. They make everything great! Oh and Dates.

Who inspires you?

I am easily inspired, so I find women everyday that inspire me. My great grandmother , she passed away when I was young, but recently I have been able to read on her past. She has inspired me be a loving and strong woman. She made me realize that I AM.

What book has made the greatest impact in your life?

There are a few, but The Divine Law of Compensation by Marianne Williamson changed the game, it teaches about love and receiving love.  It teaches about God, love, faith, and receiving highly recommend.

What simple things bring you joy?

Flowers, food, laughing all bring me joy. Freedom not so simple but the ability to own my own business is hella joyful.

What are your favorite self care tips?

Exercise, make it a priority. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.

What is something a lot of people don’t know about you?

I suffered from PTSD after Operation Iraqi Freedom. I am an advocate of mental health. I haven’t talked about that much, I like to keep it close to me but I learned that everything I feel there is someone else out there that feels it too.

What is one song that instantly puts you in a good?

Sir Duke- Stevie Wonder

What are some of your favorite self care practices?

My Best practices, I don’t always follow 🙂 But be gentle with myself, feel what I need to feel. Be positive and realign myself of who I say I am. Cry because that’s ok too. Talk it out, write it out. Move along with gratitude.

What your words to live by/your motto?

Be the light.
