Hello love and welcome back to my space! Another day down of The Artist’s Way Challenge!!! Yesss! There have been many times during this challenge that I’m like, I ain’t gonna make it, lol. Yesterday was one of those days! After having an adventurous camping trip the last thing I wanted to do was get a blog post together but once I showered and ate, it was all good!
In the past, I would still be nursing my camping hangover but since I don’t drink alcohol anymore, a simple shower and nourishing meal will set me right, lol. While my mom was visiting Chatty, she suggested that I share more of my alcohol free journey/story. Making the commitment to stop drinking alcohol is very similar to going vegan. It’s been so long (almost three years) since I’ve drank alcohol, I don’t even think about it anymore, lol.
Here’s the thing, although I hit a personal rock bottom and that was the final reason I quit drinking, that does not and is not the case for everyone! For some it is as simple as noticing the long recovery time after drinking or the way their memory is not the best after drinking or the after drinking anxiety. It doesn’t matter the reason, if you have been thinking about it, give it a try! Some of the benefits of letting go of alcohol are:

Although there are several things that keep me from taking that first drink but the one that keeps me grounded in my alcohol free lifestyle is thinking about how in my entire history of drinking, drinking never actually made anything better, lol. The reasons that people have that keep them grounded in their choice to go or remain alcohol free will vary from person to person. The most important thing is that your reason, your ‘why’ resonate with you!! Alright, let’s get into these….
