Day 9 Reflections
Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Day 9 of The Artist’s Way Challenge complete! Woot Woot! The word on heart all day has been WORTHY.
The way that I grew up, although I had angels pouring love into me, the outside world always had me feeling like I was trying to prove my worth, my value in this world. It’s wonderful to be in a space where I don’t feel that way anymore. I would attribute that to my age and meditation.
I know when a lot of people hear meditation, their eyes roll in their heads. They think, I’ve tried it and it didn’t work for me. I was one of those people. I thought meditation was bullshit until I started doing it. I was in a really bad spot. Spiraling. I could not get a grip on the noise that was going on in my head. I would not stop beating myself up. It was incessant. I remember sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram about how I was feeling. I could not shake this deep feeling of despair.
One of my Instagram friends reached out to me and asked if I had tried meditation. I told told her I had tried it but I didn’t think it was going to work for me, especially in this moment. She shared the Insight timer with me and I decided to give it a try. The first meditations I did was a course called ‘Learn To Meditate‘. It changed my life! Now, meditation is a tool like any other, it’s not going to “fix” everything but it has made these deep feelings that I so often, seem to find myself in, so much more manageable.
I like to do a mixture of silent and guided meditations and one of the teachers that fills my soul up is Sarah Blondin. Her meditations are a beautiful reminder of how to cherish this one precious life and how worthy we are just for existing.
If you are struggling with feeling unworthy, first, give yourself so much love, patience and grace. I say that because this system that we were born into was built in a way that you WOULD doubt your worthiness. How else are they gonna sell us all of the STUFF. Also know, you are made of the same thing the stars, the moon, the sun, the WHOLE dang universe are made of! You were born worthy my love!
