The Artist’s Way Challenge- Happiness Is An Inside Job

Hello Love! Welcome back to my space! Another day down on The Artist’s Way Challenge, Day 35, here we come!!! We are almost at the half way mark and I am too excited!!! I’m feeling cool and confident that I will be able to finish what I started! One of the tips that I shared in yesterdays post to insure that you grow through what you go through is recognizing that happiness is an inside job!

I know I’m not the only one that grew up thinking it was everyone else’s job to make me happy. Putting so much pressure on relationships outside of ourselves to make us happy is a recipe for disaster. Now, I’m not saying that you can’t have standards for which you would like to be treated and expectations but know that if you are making statements such as “i’ll be happy when that person stops being a jerk” lol, this is a problem. When we make these statements about a person or a goal, we are pushing happiness away from us. We are putting weight on these people and things to make us happy.

As I have shared before, we are human and can absolutely feel the full range of human emotions without shame or judgement and recognize that our emotions are our responsibility. Practicing presence, mindfulness and gratitude will enable sustained periods of peace and happiness. Knowing that happiness is an inside job will empower you to take it seriously and work on it daily! Alright, let’s get into these…
