The Artist’s Way Challenge- The Only Thing Constant Is Change

Hello Love! Welcome back to my space! I’m officially half way through The Artist’s Way Challenge!!! It’s wild that it feels like it went by so fast! I am super proud and pumped that I made it this far! I had the loveliest day. I went to the park for my movement session and Artist Date and as always, it was a good time. The Artist’s Date is my favorite part of this challenge. I love how it encourages me to take time to do something for myself outside of my movement sessions. The Artist’s Dates will be something that I continue even after the challenge is over!

Yesterday I started my day with the most wonderful meditation, Change Is The Only Constant by Davidji on Insight Timer. It is a master class on how to get through change, gracefully. We all move through change differently. Some of move through change effortlessly without resistance and some(like me) resist and push against change, often causing so much unnecessary suffering. It is inevitable that we will encounter change in this life and how we respond makes a huge difference. In the mediation, Davidji shares the serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. Although I don’t consider myself religious, that prayer has helped me through so many of life’s changes. According to meditation and life experience, the key to getting through life’s changes with ease and grace are awareness and acceptance. Awareness of the things we actually have the power to do something about and the acceptance of the things that are completely out of our control and as the prayer says “the wisdom to know the difference.” Next time you feel yourself moving through changes (especially the challenging ones) remember awareness and acceptance are your besties and resistance is your enemy, lol. I kid i kid, but for real though, the more you lean into awareness and acceptance and away from resistance, the smoother these changes will be! Alright, let’s get into these…
