75 Hard-Day 5- Stay Rooted In Your Why

Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Day 5 of the 75 hard challenge was awesome. Several people have told me that they are interested in joining the challenge and I’m so pumped about it! I watched Veggie Peggy do this challenge last year and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. Just recently followed Zipporah the Vegan’s journey and got reinspired. Then my girl Cooking with Constance started and I had to jump in!

There are many reasons why one would do this challenge. For me, it’s about being intentional about keeping the promises I make to myself. Over the past year I have developed some habits that I’d like to break and this challenge is already helping!

Whenever you start something, and that motivation starts to dwindle, remember why you started in the first place! Let that keep you rooted in why you CAN and will conquer anything that you set your mind and heart to! One of the things that helps is writing a list of all of the reasons why you want to start ‘the thing’ and then asking why, over and over again until you get to the root, the deep why of your desire!

Yesterday was a typical busy first day of the work week after a holiday! As always my morning starts with a meditation session. Then I got dressed and took Roxy and Chloe for a walk! After, I dropped them off, I head out for a run to clock my first movement session of the day! It was great, I ran for two miles and walked for one with my pal, Henry.

I head home and get the kids ready for school and make sure everyone is nourished! After drop off, I head over to Taget to get a few things to organize my pantry. I make lunch for myself and for my husband and finish up the blog post for Day 4!

After that, it’s time to pick up the kids, although I made my lunch, I had to take it on the go. The pick up line is the perfect time for a late lunch break, ha. Everything moves entirely too fast after school but for dinner I made tacos, which we have every Tuesday because everyone loves them!

After dinner we played the game Dixit which , if you haven’t heard of it, it is a beautifully illustrated game. It’s super fun and creative, definitely check it out if you have young children. Although I was so tired after the game, I clocked my second movement session with some yoga! Yoga is one of those things that I have always had an interest in but never devoted any time to. I’m so glad for this challenge to give me the chance to practice! I gotta say, although yoga is so much more challenging than it looks, my body feels amazing!!!! After yoga I did a journal session and read from Racism As Zoological Witchcraft by Aph Ko. Then it was time for bed!
