The Artist’s Way Challenge-Listen To Your Body

Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Yesterday I completed Day 16 of The Artist’s Way Challenge!!! There are things that I am learning about myself during this challenge that I couldn’t quite grasp during the 75 hard challenge. One, outside of the stillness of my morning meditation sessions, I DO NOT WANT TO SIT STILL, AT ALL, lol. It is an actual problem for me to sit still during the day. Let’s take yesterday for example, I had the plan to come home from the gym, shower, wash my hair(which is a whole process) and then sit and work on my blog post for Day 15. Did I do that, NO! After I washed my hair, I did my makeup, did some laundry, dumped out and organized a few drawers, lol. Are these things that need to be done? Yes! Did they need to be done at that moment? Absolutely not. I’m in the process of figuring out how (outside of music and procrastination panic) to get myself motivated to do these blog post in a timely matter.

I have been thinking about the diet portion of this challenge and how there is so much conflicting information about ‘how to eat’ on these internet streets. Everywhere you look there is someone saying something is bad for you, and i’m not just talking about the regular “stay away from fried food and sugar is the enemy” stuff. I’ve seen spinach is bad for you, SPINACH!!!

Although I knew that certain foods (fried) make me feel icky, I didn’t know how good my body could feel until I started leaning towards a whole foods plant based diet. When I first went vegan I gravitated towards all of the fun familiar foods that I was used to in my pre-vegan days and then eventually ended up eating mostly whole foods with a sprinkle of the fun and familiar. The best advice I can give anyone when it comes to ‘how’ and ‘what’ to eat is to listen to your body. Your body knows whats up! It gives us hunger cues, full cues. Our bellies will bloat and fingers will swell if you give it something that doesn’t agree with us. We just gotta tune in and listen! Do you listen to your body? Anywho, let’s get into these…
