75 Hard Challenge-Day 2- Intuitive Eating

Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Yesterday was the second day of the 75 hard challenge and I’m officially feeling the challenge, ha. I’m trying to wrap my head around two 45 min workouts. Before I jump into how yesterday went, I wanted to share a little about my journey to intuitive eating.

After I gave birth to my son in 2015, I decided that I wanted to get into the “best shape” of my life. Looking back, I can see that it was deeply rooted in how others perceived me. It was rooted in our current society’s fixation on slim bodies. My relationship with food has always been a bit off, feeding into the narrative that some foods are good and some are bad, therefore feeling emotional about eating certain foods.

I went down the path of losing “the baby weight” and found myself adopting extremely unhealthy habits that included: weighing myself several times a day, weighing my food and scheduling binge days(aka cheat days).

It wasn’t until I switched to a plant based diet that started getting in tune with my body needed. I began to notice how certain food made me feel and started gravitating towards the food that made me feel light and energized. One of the biggest tips I can give you when it comes to what you eat, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! It knows what’s up! Come to find out, it’s called intuitive eating!

When it comes to the ‘diet’ portion of this challenge, I’ll be sticking to a WFPB diet, and using the daily dozens app to track that I get at least 20 out of 24 of the suggested servings!

For the past few months, I have started my day walking my mother in laws dogs, Roxy and Chloe! The morning walks are typically short, so not enough to clock a 45 minute movement session! After I drop them off at home, I take off for a run! I clocked in my first movement session and headed home for a snack of a banana and cashews.

My husband found this place called Mckays that has used toys, books, records and more, so we went to check it out! It was pretty awesome! I want to go alone and explore! I was hungry for a snack so I had an apple!

Then we headed back to Southern Squeeze where I got the Aztec Bowl and ate my daughters leftover waffles. The thing that I love about Southern Squeeze, is that everything is made from scratch , in thier kitchen. You can definitely taste the freshness!

We headed home and chilled for a bit and for dinner we had leftover stir fry(cabbage, onions, sesame seeds, green bell peppers, mushrooms, celery) over a brown rice, jasmine rice mixture. After dinner I dragged the family out for what I hoped to be a 45 minute session but for them it was 20 minutes, then I walked to rest of the 25 minutes alone, which was nice!

I did my reading session of  Racism As Zoological Witchcraft by Aph Ko in a lovely bath and finished the day with a journaling session. It was a great second day of the challenge! Thanks for reading!
