Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Yesterday I begrudgingly completed another day of The Artist’s Way Challenge, lol. I have all of these thoughts about whether the challenge is working or not when of course it’s working! I am creating something EVERY SINGLE DAY! LMAO!!! Maybe the question is not if it’s working but HOW it’s working. If I can create, not so great ‘stuff’ everyday, I am imagining what i can do with a lil more time and effort. I am looking forward to being able to take the time (but no too much time) to tease out these wonderful, beautiful ideas that I have inside of me. We keep on keeping on!
I have been thinking about how much information we are overwhelmed with on the daily. Even the gas stations have taken to putting obnoxious screens at the pumps that are yelling at you as soon as you step foot out of the car. In this overstimulation, over indulgent, over informed period of time is so damn important to protect your peace! Protecting your peace means caring for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being by creating boundaries around what you allow in your space. Protecting your peace look like:
- Paying attention to what/triggers you.
- Surrounding yourself with people who uplift and inspire you.
- Pay attention to how you feel after hanging out with people, if you constantly feel drained after hanging out with certain friends or family, it may be time to reduce the time you spend with them.
- If it’s not an enthusiastic yes, it’s a NO.
- Let your NO mean NO.
- Stick to your boundaries.
- Reduce media consumption.
- Prioritize alone time.
- Practice Acceptance.
At the end of the day, the practice of protecting your peace is an ongoing habit. The benefits are living in alignment and a smoother ride on this ride called life! How are you prioritizing protecting your peace toady?
