Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Yesterday I completed Day 29 of The Artist’s Way Challenge!! I was able to push through my strong feelings of wanting to quit and get through another day! When I wrote this prompt ‘don’t worry, be happy’, I was thinking about a few things. One, I have a cousin who uses this as her life’s mantra. If she senses that you’re stressed, she’ll make eye contact with you and cheerfully say, “don’t worry, be happy”. There have been times when I have taken her advice and tried to let go of whatever had been bothering me, especially if I had no control over it. Other times I’d look at her like ‘now is not the time’, lol. The second thing I was thinking about was my mother in law, if worrying was a sport, she would have had all of the trophies and awards!
Although the saying, ‘don’t worry, be happy’, can sound a little crass, especially with everything that is happening in our country and around the world but there is some truth to it. First I’ll say, nobody has to be happy all of the time, that’s just not realistic(although after finishing The Untethered Soul, maybe it could be). I will say this, after watching my mother in law, worry her life away, I knew that I wanted to stop the incessant habit of worrying about everything, all the time.
Worrying is a habit and just as you got yourself into the habit of worrying, you can get yourself out!
