The Artist’s Way Challenge- Like Who You Are!

Hello Love and welcome back to my space! Yesterday I completed Day 73 of The Artist’s Way Challenge! I almost entitled today’s post “their like is extra” but I wanted to focus on some wise words that my park friend Henry shared with me and that I know to be oh so true! One day I was at the park running while listening to a podcast about happiness. When I ran past Henry, I turned and asked him “what is your number one tip for happiness” without missing a beat or giving much thought at all he replied, “like who you are”.

With all of the bullshit that we put up with in this life constantly being told that we are not good enough, having products shoved down our throats every time we turn around, being told how we should look how we should act, I know that it can be a challenge to like who we are. We are constantly(especially as women) being given messages that we need to change to be excepted but if we dare to like ourselves we are judged for that too. It’s like a no win situation. If you don’t already like yourself, it’s time to get started on that journey my love. Throughout this challenge, I have shared all sorts of ways to get to know yourself and get to like and love yourself. Cultivating self love is about caring about your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health! There are so many ways to cultivate a loving relationship with yourself that include but are definitely not limited to:

  • Keeping the promises you make to yourself
  • Setting healthy boundaries with yourself and others
  • Being mindful of how you are nourishing your body not only phyically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually
  • Celebrating your progress
  • Talking to yourself with love and kindness
  • Expressing yourself!!!

Although the road to cultivating a loving relationship with ourselves can be challenging, it is so worth the wait. As with any relationship, you must show up for yourself daily! How are you showing up for yourself today? Alright let’s get into these…
